10 Tile Trends for 2021

Spending all that time in your home might have you keen to change things up. Here we have our Top 10 Tile trends of 2021 that will hopefully provide you with the inspiration you need.

While 2020 may have been the year that Home DIY Makeovers took over Instagram, we would suggest always using an expert when it comes to tiling.

1. Stone Look

It's all about bringing natural elements into the home. Turn your bathroom into a tranquil oasis with stone effect tiles in a range of earthy colours. We love the idea of using one tile for floor & walls in the bathroom for ultimate simplicity & modern look.

2. Wood Effect

In a bathroom, kitchen, utility, bedroom, wood effect tiles add a beautiful natural look to a home. They are also the perfect companion to underfloor heating.

3. Marble Look

Marble is making a comeback in a big way. We love the marble look in a matt finish.

4. Colour

Bored of neutrals? Or just want to add some flare to your bathroom? Colourful bathrooms are back in style and we are so happy about this.

5. Texture/3D

If colour and bold patterns aren't your thing, you can still make a statement using textured to 3D wall tiles.

6. Subway Tiles

They've been around for over 100 years and aren't going away anytime soon. Perfect for the classic kitchen backsplash or as a feature wall in a shower. You can't go wrong with the beloved subway tile.

7. Hexagon

Hot on the scene is hexagon-shaped tiles. These are great in a small bathroom or as a kitchen backsplash.

8. Large Format

Bigger is better and the tiles are only getting bigger. By choosing a large format tile you reduce your grout line, making them easier to clean and maintain. They also bring a certain WOW factor and create the illusion of space. More recently people have been using larger tiles as kitchen backsplashes.

9. Encaustic Tiles

The cottagecore aesthetic is big for 2021 and what better way to achieve this look than with encaustic tiles in soft muted tones and beautiful patterns.

10. Indoor Outdoor Paving Tiles

Not a trend that we tend to think about in the cold month of January but considering we are all spending a lot more time at home we want to make the most of the space we have. New 20mm outdoor paving tiles provide can create a seamless indoor/outdoor connection. If indoor/outdoor isn't your thing paving tiles are still a fantastic option for an outdoor patio. They are easy to clean and maintain and many come with excellent anti-slip ratings.

Whatever tiling trend is for you, why not call in store to meet with the team and discuss your design ideas? All the tiles above are available at Brian Pyne Tiles and we'd love to help you with any renovation you have in 2021.
